werd op 4 november 1986 geboren en is een Canadese zangeres, songwriter en actrice. Ze is vooral bekend als actrice. Zo speelt ze de hoofdrol in de tienermuziekserie Instant Star als Jude Harrison en heeft ze ook de hoofdrol gespeeld in de Disneyserie So Weird als Annie Thelan. Ook speelde ze in de films Final Destination 3, Devil's Diary en nog veel meer andere films.
Toch ligt Alexz' passie in de muziek: al sinds haar elfde is ze bezig in de muziekwereld en ze heeft jarenlang zangles gehad, waaronder opera. Na een paar verbroken platencontracten (o.a. bij Epic Records) en een heel afgemaakt album die daardoor niet is uitgekomen, is Alexz enthousiaster dan ooit tevoren. Samen met haar broer heeft ze zelf een plaat geproduceerd, “Voodoo”. Met haar fans communiceert ze nu vrij direct via haar website, Alexzjohnson.com.

En dat is dan ook meteen de naam van haar blog: alexzhasablog.com. Zo kan ze haar fans nog meer inzicht geven in haar leven. Erg leuk om te lezen! Hieronder noemt Alexz kort wat haar intentie was van het starten van deze blog.

Weer een radio interview met Alexz! Deze werd opgenomen op 24 januari 2011 en is maar liefst meer dan 20 minuten lang. Ze praten veel over Instant Star maar ook onderwerpen waar ze haar niet vaak naar vragen, zoals haar jeugd.

The Dutch Guy heeft 19 januari via Skype een interview gedaan met Alexz. Ze praten o.a. over haar eerste optreden, hoe het nou zit maar haar album bij Epic Records en dat ze graag de wereld rond zou willen touren. Ik quote:

InDiscover en Alexz hebben beiden bevestigd dat Boogie Love de nieuwe single is van Voodoo Reloaded. De originele versie van het nummer was al upbeat, maar de remix is volgens InDiscover écht onvergetelijk. Disco gecombineerd met ritmische bas en dezelfde leuke tekst als het origineel laat Alexz’ leukste kant zien en breekt de modder aan huidige mainstream popmuziek. Hieronder kun je lezen wat er in de videoclip gebeurt, voor de clip zelf zullen we nog enkele weken moeten wachten…
We then see a room, littered with remnants of a party from the night before. Glasses toppled over, people lying on the floor, still asleep. Alexz sits in the centre of a couch, calm and cool, looking like a young Michelle Pfeiffer from Scarface.
They take us back in time to watch how the night unfolded. Alexz is back in the club, looking beautiful as always, wearing a 70s printed flowing top and belting out the tune with a ‘come-here-and-party’ look in her eye.
“Where’s Ben?” she asks as she sits in her changeroom backstage, as her backup singer stands behind her. It’s too bad he gets off work at 10 because he is going to miss the beginning of what’s sure to be one big party!
Alexz walks past a line of people; the ladies glare, the men stare…she doesn’t care if she doesn’t get their love…she’s got music!
She finishes the song on-stage, with people dancing around her, guitarists strumming and lights flashing.

Alexz plaatste vandaag een kort filmpje op Facebook waarin ze vraagt fans geld over te maken naar de Canadese Alzheimer organisatie. Waarschijnlijk heeft een familielid dit op het moment, aangezien ze er niet zo blij bij kijkt… Het filmpje is hier te zien.
Daarnaast ook een nieuw berichtje op Alexz’ site! Ze vertelt dat ze 13 december de video op zal nemen voor haar nieuwe single, die 11 januari uitkomt. Uiteraard vindt ze dat enorm spannend en kan ze niet wachten de nieuwe muziek aan ons te laten horen. Nou, wij kunnen ook nauwelijks wachten!
I wanted to wish you a wonderful holiday season! The more seasons I’m lucky enough to experience, the more I realize how special they are. They magnify and remind us of how many awesome people we have in our lives. I love this time.
It’s going to be a busy time in pre-production for the video shoot happening December 13th and the single release on January 11th! I’m so excited, and especially excited to get the music out to you. I can’t say what the single is quite yet, that’s gonna be a surprise. Can tell you however, that I’m thrilled with the newly mastered album and very proud of it. Who knows how far it’ll reach, but however many ears it reaches, I believe in it and that’s all that really matters.
Sending you heaps of amazing memories and special moments this season. I’ll keep you posted on the fun things leading up to the release!!
